Abstract Submission

Call for Abstracts

The IFBLS 2022 Scientific Committee invites you to submit your abstract(s) at this wonderful gathering of knowledge and experience and contribute with your in-depth studies to the field of the Biomedical Laboratory Science.

Abstract can only be submitted online through the official congress website. Please create your account to register and submit your abstract.

Important Dates

Abstract Submission by July 31, 2022
Notification of Acceptance August 16, 2022
Presenting Author’s Registration by August 31, 2022

The presenting author must register for the congress. Accepted abstracts whose presenting author does not register and pay in full by the above deadline, will not be published in the final abstract book.

Presentation Types

Poster Presentation
Interesting and inspiring studies related to Biomedical Laboratory Science will be displayed in the poster session. Also, abstracts of exceptional qualities can be requested to be presented orally.

Poster Size 90 cm by 120 cm (Width-by-height, Ratio of 3:4, Portrait)
Font Widely used font (Arial or Calibri recommended.)
Poster Print It is the responsibility of the presenting author to prepare the printed poster and post it on the allocated poster board on site.
Presentation The presenting author will present the poster and take Q&A during the allocated time.

Disclosure of COI To avoid any commercial bias, all authors must disclose conflicts of interest in a statement at the bottom of the poster.

Oral Presentation
You can apply for the oral presentation where you will have an opportunity to present your work directly to the audience at the congress.
Software MS PowerPoint (2013 or later version in Windows)
* If using a Mac program, you must bring your own laptop and cable.
Font & Font Size • Font: Widely used font (Arial or Calibri recommended. Do not use copyrighted font.)
• Font Size: 24 or larger
Slide Size Widescreen (16:9, landscape) preferred.
Presentation Duration 15 minutes including Q&A
* Presentation time and place: Refer to the [Scientific Program] menu on this website.
* Strict time limit will be enforced for a smooth operation of sessions.
Submission Deadline August 31, 2022
* File Name and the Dropbox Link to submit the presentation file : Refer to the e-mail sent to the authors.
Disclosure of COI To avoid any commercial bias, all authors must disclose conflicts of interest in a statement in the second slide of the presentation file, which is following the title page.
Source of Figure All figures/tables which are not generated by the authors must be appropriately cited.
Use of Media • Edit lengthy files to delete irrelevant content and keep only the point you want to make.
• Embed the media in the PowerPoint.
• Bring a backup copy of the audio or video file.
• Go to the Preview Room the day before your presentation and TEST your media.
The final placement of abstracts in the oral or poster session is subject to the discretion of the scientific committee.
Presenting authors who fail to appear or perform presentations in the allocated time and place, will be excluded from all award nominations at the 35th World Congress   of IFBLS, and the corresponding abstracts will be automatically withdrawn from the scientific program of IFBLS 2022.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Submission
  • Abstract can only be submitted online through the  official website. Abstract submission by email or fax will not be accepted.
  • Submission of an abstract implies that it has been approved by all listed authors.
Language
  • English
Title
  • The title must not exceed 30 words.
  • Refrain from using abbreviations in the title.
Author
  • Names and surnames for all co-authors must be provided.
  • Do not include degrees or titles.
Institution
  • Listed by department, institution, city and country.
Contents
  • Contents may be organized as the author sees fit, though they should include the purpose of the study, the methods used,
    a summary of the results and the conclusion reached.
  • The contents must not exceed 350 words.
  • Tables, figures, graphs and references are not allowed in the abstract.
  • Animated images and animations are not permitted and will be non-functioning.
  • All abbreviations must be defined in first use. Only standard abbreviations may be used without definition.
    Data must be given in units (An international metric system is preferred) widely used in literature.
  • Abstract will be reproduced as submitted. The authors are responsible for all spelling, grammatical or scientific errors.
  • Modifications may be made at any time until the abstract submission deadline.
Keywords
  • A minimum of three keywords must be entered in alphabetical order, and up to five keywords.
Acknowledgement
  • Funding source can be entered where applicable.
Originality
  • Abstracts must be original and must not be or have been published or presented at any other meeting prior to the congress.
Conflicts of Interest
  • To avoid any commercial bias, all authors must disclose conflicts of interest included in the presentation upon acceptance.
Copyright
  • By submitting the abstract, the author(s) grants IFBLS 2022 the exclusive right to first publish the abstract, and thereafter a non-exclusive right to publish, display and store the abstract in all forms, formats and media. No fee shall be paid to the author by IFBLS 2022 for the license granted herein. The author will retain copyright of his or her abstract as well.
  • Withdrawal of abstracts will only be accepted if notified in writing to scientific@ifbls2022.org and confirmed by the secretariat. It is only possible to withdraw an abstract within 14 days after the notification of acceptance.
  • The scientific committee reserves the right to withdraw any abstracts that do not meet the scientific standards of the federation at any point before or after acceptance and subsequent publication in the congress abstract book.

Notification of Acceptance

The scientific committee will review the abstracts, and the notification of acceptance will be sent to the select authors from  August 16, 2022 along with presentation instructions. If your abstract is accepted, please be sure that the presenting author registers for IFBLS 2022 by no later than August 31, 2022. If the presenting author does not register in time, the abstract will not be included in the final abstract book.

Copyright Protection

All materials presented and/or published at the 35th World Congress of IFBLS are valuable research assets. The organizing committee of the 35th World Congress of IFBLS strictly prohibits duplication, reproduction, storage and/or transmission for any commercial purpose. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, transmission, and commercial use of any presented and/or published materials of the 35th World Congress of IFBLS is a serious offense of copyright infringement, and upon violation of such conducts, the organizing committee may take civil and criminal legal actions against them.
