Entry to Korea has become easy!

Currently, all nationals entering Korea require a quarantine of 7 days. However, individuals who have completed vaccination* can be exempted from the quarantine according to the following policies. The policies may apply differently by countries, and it is the responsibility of the participant to check with the Korean diplomatic missions abroad prior to departure for the arrival procedure for each country.

Documents to be prepared for quarantine exemption for those who have completed vaccination

-       Certificate of negative PCR Test result received within 48 hours or supervised RAT result received within 24 hours of departure date

-       Certificate of vaccination completion*

-       Entering vaccination information into pre-entry quarantine information system (Q-CODE) prior to departure

-       PCR Test within three days of arrival

1. Those who have completed vaccination* according to the WHO requirements, must submit the Negative PCR COVID-19 Test Result upon entry to Korea.

-       PCR tests based on the nucleic acid amplification methods or Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) taken under medical supervision (as of May 23, 2022) are accepted.

-       Must submit a negative PCR COVID-19 test result performed and issued within 48 hours of the departure date, or a supervised negative professional RAT result taken and issued within 24 hours of the departure date (effective from May 23, 2022)

-       Test method must be recorded in Korean or English

2. For those who have completed overseas vaccinations and have not registered their overseas vaccination history with the Korean public health center, entering your overseas vaccination history into the pre-entry quarantine information system (Q-CODE) prior to departure will facilitate your quarantine exemption procedure upon entry. After entering your vaccination information at Q-CODE, check vaccination history using the given QR code. Go to Q-CODE at https://cov19ent.kdca.go.kr/cpassportal/.

In case of incorrect information entry, loss of QR code, etc., additional confirmation may be required by the quarantine officer including PCR Negative Certificate, Vaccination Certificate, etc. Thus, you must carry the documents upon entry.

3. All entrants must take a PCR test within three days of arrival and are asked to take an additional RAT on the 6th or 7th day following the arrival date (effective from June 1, 2022).

4. Infants or children aged 11 and under as of the arrival date, are not required to submit a negative PCR test result if accompanying persons submit valid negative PCR test results (effective from June 1, 2022).

5. Those who have completed the 2nd shot (1st for Janssen) with a history of COVID-19 infection will be managed the same way as those who received the 3rd shot, even if 180 days have passed after the 2nd vaccination. Upon entry, submit documents in Korean or English with the date of diagnosis (PCR test results, proof of complete recovery, etc.) to quarantine officers.

* Definition of individuals who have completed vaccination:

A person who completed vaccination outside of Korea, refer to an individual who has received the second vaccination and within 14 to 180 days following the second dosage of a vaccine (1st dose for Janssen) that has been approved by WHO, as of the date of entrance or who has received the third (booster) vaccination following the second vaccination and can verify the immunization history.
