Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove is an infectious disease epidemiologist who currently serves as the technical lead for the COVID-19 response at WHO. Her focus includes developing prevention and control programs around high threat respiratory pathogens. Prior to COVID-19, she was serving as the MERS-CoV technical lead.

Dong-Seon Chang Dong-Seon CHANG      Ph.D., Korea Neuroscientist
CEO, Curious Brain Research Institute
Dr. Chang received his Ph.D. from the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics & University of Tübingen (Department of Human Perception, Cognition and Action). He won the German National Champion in Science Slam 2014 and is a global expert in neurotechnology & science communication. Before founding his lab, he served as the Head of Future Technology Strategy Team at Hyundai Motor Group.

Asan Medical Center, University of Ulsan College of Medicine
Prof. Kim’s specialties are in clinical microbiology and nosocomial infection. Her research focuses on bacteriology, mycology and parasitology, especially in regard to the diagnosis of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria, identification of resistance mechanisms and infection control. At this congress, Prof. Kim will give an incredible presentation on “New Waves of Clinical Laboratory in Future Revolution”.

Marie Culliton served two terms as the President of the Council of the Academy of Clinical Science and Laboratory Medicine, and also served as the President of the European Association for Professions in Biomedical Science during 2004-2018. Based on her extensive experience and as the President-Elect of IFBLS, she will present on the “Past, Present and Future of IFBLS”.

Having served as the first Japanese President of IFBLS, Dr. Komatsu has been extensively involved in the development of the biomedical laboratory science in the global community. She will give a plenary lecture on the theme of the congress, “New Normal, New Lab”.

His research interest is on clinical microbiology and will talk about “K-Quarantine in Pandemic” at this congress.

Having received his Ph.D. in Pharmacy, Prof. Lim conducts his main research in life pharmacy and has been specializing and teaching in General Chemistry, Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Urinalysis and Fluid Testing, and Nuclear Medicine Laboratory at Dong-Eui University. He will give a plenary lecture on the post-COVID-19 health care with a topic, "How to Prepare for the New Normal".
