IFBLS 2022

Student Forum

The IFBLS 2022 Student Forum will take place on October 5-6, 2022 at the Suwon Convention Center. This is a perfect opportunity to network with the future leaders of the Biomedical Laboratory Science all over the world and make contributions to the field!

All participating international and domestic students are required to register for the congress individually at this website. Please sign up to create your account to register.

Please note that the abstract submission method has been changed!
On behalf of the group, the main contact of an international student group must submit the abstract to the IFBLS 2022 secretariat at and cc to Prof. Sang Jung Park at by the deadline. Please carefully follow the guideline below.

Welcome to the world of the Biomedical Laboratory Science!

Student Forum Themes

  • In the “New Normal Era”, how will the biomedical science change, and what are new competencies required for clinical laboratory scientists?
  • How have the learning methods changed in biomedical laboratory science majors since the COVID-19 pandemic? (e.g. virtual class, metaverse class, etc.)


Wednesday October 5, 2022 13:00-18:00 Presentations by each group (7 minutes per group)
Each group will give a presentation under one of the two themes for a maximum of 7 minutes. The presenters will deliver well-prepared presentations whereas the audience will comprehend the contents with focus, as it will be crucial for the discussion session taking place on the next day.
Thursday October 6, 2022 13:00-16:00 Group Discussions (10 minutes for each group)
Each group will stand at the podium and have a discussion session for a maximum of 10 minutes on the previous day’s presentation. Audience students can ask questions, suggest new ideas, and discuss in-depth with the presenters, who in return will give their best answers. The audience’s quality participation in the discussion session will also be counted for evaluation.
16:00-17:00 Poster Tour
Student participants will visit the poster session and take a look at the poster presentations.
17:00-18:00 Award Ceremony
Evaluations on Group Presentation and Discussion, both as presenters and audience, will take place by judges, and awards will be presented to the select groups.
Awards consist of Grand Prize, Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Bronze Prize, and Participation Prize.

Group Composition 2-6 Students per group
Registration All members of a group must create individual accounts at the IFBLS 2022 homepage and register for the congress individually for their participation at the IFBLS 2022 Student Forum. Students who have not completed the registration with full payment are not admitted to the session rooms.
Abstract Submission Please note that the abstract submission method has been changed!

Find the Abstract Guideline and Abstract Submission Form, and fill out ALL required information. The main contact of an international student group must submit the completed Abstract Submission Form to the IFBLS 2022 secretariat at and cc to Prof. Sang Jung Park at by the deadline. The abstract submission guidelines must be followed.
* The accompanying professor/supervisor must be entered as a corresponding author.
* The Student Forum abstract submission for domestic students is closed.

Presentation Material Submission The main contact must send the final group presentation material in the MS PowerPoint format (2013 or later version) to the secretariat at by the deadline. The main contact can check the file at the Preview Room on site by 11:00, October 5, 2022 .

Evaluation Criteria
  • Understanding on the theme and presenting material
  • Understanding on other groups’ presentations (evaluated on questions)
  • Relevance of answers to questions
  • Attitude of answering questions

Special Event

A Supervisors’ Meeting will be held among professors and instructors of participating groups for a valuable exchange of experience and networking. The exact time and place will be announced in due time.
